STREETSTAR FESTIVAL IS FINALLY BACK!
Streetstar welcomes you to the 17th edition of the Streetstar Festival!
We are happy and honored to be back and celebrate streetdance culture at its best at the magnificent venue in the center of Stockholm – Kulturhuset and Plattan/Sergelstorg – the main square in Stockholm. In collaboration with Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.
Due to the circumstances that have prevailed over the past two years, we have tried our best to digitize the dance culture in the best possible way – But now, we are more than ready to welcome you back to a space where we all can dance, learn, create, be inspired, be free and most importantly be united once again.
We have created something special for this years StreetStar edition, with an extra focus on international collaborations. These concepts and events are respected around the world. Streetstar presents you;
ATMOSPHERE – THE BOX -> HOUSE DANCE
PAY THE COST TO BE THE BOSS -> FUNK STYLES
We also present our own international concepts DANCEHALL BATTLES and top BREAKING BATTLES.
Bringing back the showcase competition STREETSTAR SHOWCASE OF THE YEAR!

We are honored to present Streetstar Festival 2022 at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern as it’s one of our main partners and Northern Europe’s largest cultural institutions. There are a wide range of activities that can be found in the institution, such as libraries, theatre, debates, art exhibitions, film, dance and music. Stockholm Stadsteatern AB was formed in 1956 after almost 30 years of planning. The architect Peter Celsing’s iconic glass building – inaugurated in the autumn of 1974 and eventually in Kulturhuset and Stockholms Stadsteatern merged to form Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in 2013.
Streetstar presents a variety of program in Kulturhusets various premises.
SERGELS TORG – ”PLATTAN”
Sergels Torg square, the so called ” Plattan” is one of Swedens most well-known locations. Many describe the spot as “the heart of Stockholm”, and been used by many artists to perform or advertise a cause. Next to it you will see Stockholm’s most culturally significant buildings; The culture House (Kulturhuset).
Streetstar presents spectacular battles in HIP HOP, DANCEHALL, FUNK ( LOCKING and POPPING) and BREAKING at Sergels Torg!

HAWKS METHOD
We have invited 10 great Hip Hop dancers from all over Europe to challenge themselfes in this amazing concept Hawks Method. How do they perform their freestyle/improvisation technical skills with their musicality abillities on the Hip Hop beats played by DJ YUGSON HAWKS from Paris.
SHOWCASE OF THE YEAR
Now its time for all international and Swedish dancers to bring out your best showcase for the stage.
See Showcases with solo dancers, duos and crew perform and compete for the gran prize of Showcase Of The Year.

We have the honor to present a collaboration with this fantastic event and challenge based on House and Club Culture in Stockholm during the Streetstar Festival 2022.
Since 2004 the goal of the Atmosphère project has been to bring together people from House culture, clubbing and arts with guest dancers, djs, producers and more… A regular party where dancers, clubbers meet to raise ‘spirit with dance and music with concepts : X²-change, live performances, Can u dance …?
