Streetstar Stockholm International Streetdance Festival 2016 is arranged for the 11th consecutive year. It is the largest event within Streetdance in Scandinavia and a meeting point for some of the best dancers from all over the world. We have over 800 dancers from 30 countries to participate in the contests and battles.

We bring you some of the finest dancers from all over the world to Stockholm – Sweden within HIP HOP, BREAKING, LOCKING, POPPING, VOGUE, WAACKING, HOUSE, DANCEHALL

Also for the second time STREETSTAR INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS will be held in ITALY, where the winners will represent their countries for the finals at the Streetstar Festival.

The international jury enters the battles after having selected the best dancers from the preselections. Those selected dancers will then also become part of the judges panel.

There is sure to be hot battles on a high international level! Get ready to see invited international judges get down!

There will be prelims for this concept in Italy. The winners of the prelims will qualify directly to the Four corners concept at the Streetstar Festival.

A culture sprung out of Harlem with roots in the 30s and in the drag queen scene. Inspired formost by fashion, hence the name Vogue. This year we bring the Ballroom scene to Sweden with categories like New way, Old Way, Vogue femme & Runway. Vogue is a wide culture now spreading and evolving all over the world.

We have invited the top international queens and kings to enhance the Streetstar Ball 2016 experience.

There will be prelims for VOGUE RUNWAY, VOGUE OLD WAY and VOGUE NEW WAY in Italy. The winner of the prelims will qualify directly to the eight best at the Streetstar Festival.

The best dancers in Popping, Locking and Breaking will go together in a 3 vs 3 battle in this new concept that will definitely be Funky. Music plays a big part in our dance styles and Funk is one of the main ingredients. The judges are of a high international standard and the Swedish dancers level of Funk styles are high, so we expect the best of the best in this category!

Get ready for some really hot Waacking dancers. After a huge success from last years Streetstar battles, we can only expect its going to be Nasty 2016. Welcome to the world of the Underground.

Dance style with roots in 1970s gay club culture on the U.S. West Coast. Its original name was ‘PUNKING”. And the description given was WAACKING which means to strike with force. And that movement was inspired by silent movies, animation (cartoons:example Bugs Bunny, and Martial Arts) Pictures of Hollywood Movie Stars of the 30′s 40′s and 50′s and it’s Musicals. And its popularity was resurrected in early 2000 as WAACKING.

There will be prelims for this concept in Italy. The winners of the prelims will qualify directly to the quarter finals at the Streetstar Festival.

Dancehall is a music and dance style from Jamaica. The dancehall culture emerged from Ska and Roots reggae in the late 70′s. It’s a social dance that comes alive in parties and clubs. Dancehall is a personal expression of its practitioners, it is important to be creative and everyday life is often expressed in dance.

The style itself reflects Jamaica’s environment turquoise waters and swaying palm trees, and at the same time hard street life and tough attitudes. Dancehall is one of the Caribbean’s largest international cultures.

The competition is open for all crews from all over the world. Our esteemed judge panel is fierce and has great knowledge and understands the evolving disciplines of urban dance. This is the opportunity for all dancers and crews to expose and experience some of the most exciting performances of the urban dance scene of 2016.
