STREETSTAR FESTIVAL 2021 – ”REUNION”

Since its start in 2006, Streetstar has aimed to challenge, develop and elevate the urban dance scene for a wider audience and show what this fantastic dance culture has to offer.

For the past 15 years, we have arranged various dance events in e.g. SOLNAHALLEN, FRYSHUSET, KONSERTHUSET, BERWALDHALLEN, DANSMUSEET, CIRKUS STOCKHOLM, DANSENS HUS, SÖDRA TEATERN.
The Streetstar Festival has been our flagship with competitions and battles with JUSTE DEBOUT, POPPING, LOCKING, HIP HOP, HOUSE, BREAKING MASTERS, WAACKING, VOGUE and DANCEHALL. In addition to these dance styles, we have also arranged jams, workshops, parties, showcases during the festival.

The Streetstar Festival 2021 is a Reunion from all the years during a 5-day program with various elements, reports and interviews with several dancers and DJs who have meant a lot to us and to the Swedish dance scene.
We want to continue to serve this urban dance culture, give back and immortalize all the wonderful and magic moments on the dance floor. In addition to this, a number of new unique DJ sets and special workshops are presented.

Ticket revenues from this year’s festival will go in full* to the artists!

In the light of #metoo, a very important issue has been highlighted about a bad male behaviour and culture. in the dance scene, the community and also our organisation.
A macho culture that we have all been part of and contributed to. This is something we need to take full responsibility for and apologise if we have not done or are doing enough to have a safe and healthy dance scene.
We are constantly working on these issues since it has come to our attention and are trying in the best way to address the problem and find solutions on how to guide ourselves and others.

What happened is something that will and can never happen again.
