DECEMBER 10th to 12th

Streetstar proudly presents Dance Video Forum for dancers and filmmakers from around the world. The forum will include competitions regarding dance videos produced by participants, as well as Workshops and Panels on film and dance for the development of digital arts and movement.

Dance Video Forum is a new platform on the web for young choreographers and dancers in Sweden and around the world. We will open the Dance Video Forum for dance, workshops and lectures on the web. For artistic development in general and due to the corona pandemic in particular, we want to offer young dancers the opportunity on the web for artistic development by creating innovative dance films and showcases.
We want to show a wide range of aesthetic and artistic forms of expression in the world of dance. Through dance competitions, workshops and performances, young dancers will have the opportunity to explore new stage expressions in the production of dance culture on the web.

BEST DANCE VIDEO All dance styles in urban dance are represented and the key words are diversity and multiculturalism, where we target young professional dancers, choreographers and film directors who represent the dance stars and filmmakers of tomorrow and the future.

Best Dance Video was first organized in 2020 with great international interest and we had 50 participating filmmakers and films from South Africa, Senegal, USA, France, Italy, Australia, Canada, Greece, Mexico, South Korea, Finland, Belarus, Austria, Great Britain, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Uzbekistan, and Sweden.

2023 in Stockholm Sweden a mysterious power suddenly starts to emerge within some random individuals. Certain movements seem to unleash this invisible force.

This phenomena tears Swedens well functioning society into an anarchy.
Nobody understand what haex is or where it comes from, but everyone wants it.
Governments, terror organisations and your local daycare mom. Everyone is obsessed…

A New action style that comes from dance instead of Kung fu.
HAEX is also a new type of action genre. The concept unlocks an infinite library of new movements that could not be used earlier in fight choreographies as the movements did not create any physical consequence. Here, these otherwise harmless movements become codes that control the brutal and invisible force of HAEX.

JUDGES

BUDDHA STRETCH – MOP TOP / ELITE FORCE NYC

Stretch heavily impacted the dance world by bridging the gap between what was termed, Ol’ Skool and New Skool. His dance style, known as Freestyle Hip-Hop, draws from all aspects of Hip-Hop culture, music and dance. These moves during the early days of music videos helped to launch the popularity of dance in this medium, as well as live shows.

His first video was with Eric B & Rakim, Eric B for President. He met the members of his first dance crew, Mop Top, at a music video audition each one had booked for Diana Ross, Working Overtime. They began to hang out at New York’s night spot, The Tunnel, and later formed their crew. Stretch later formed a crew called Elite Force who appeared in documentaries, music videos, live shows and in countless projects overseas. His first choreography job was for Joeski Love (Pee Wee Dance) and went on to work with the likes of Rosie Perez, Will Smith in the Men In Black and Miami videos; Michael Jackson’s Remember The Time video (his most memorable experience) and more. He was nominated for two MTV Awards for ‘Best Choreography’ for the Will Smith videos Men In Black, Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, and Miami. Recent credits include choreography for Virgin recording artist Thalia (on Good Morning America), Aida, Tony Award Winner, Heather Headley, Hot ’97 Air Personality, Angie Martinez, and rapper Rah Diggah.

Stretch believes “music is the universal language; dance is its interpreter.”
