THIS YEAR COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL NORDIC DANCE SCHOOLS
After six consecutive year’s with successful competitions it is time again for the Streetstar Dance School Challenge at Dansens hus in Stockholm! This year Streetstar invites all Nordic Dance Schools to participate! And we want to gather all teachers and students from Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland and Sweden. A great opportunity for all with passion for dance to meet during a joyful weekend in Stockholm!!

All Nordic Dance Schools will compete with their best performances, we want to show a wide range of aesthetic and artistic expression and to give young dancers the opportunity to meet and develop their theatrical expressions and experiences.
NEW TALENT 8-13 years
NEXT GENERATION 14-16 years
NEXT GENERATION 17-19 years
ADVANCED LEVEL 20 years and over
Observe!
The majority of the group must have the right age for the selected category. Two (2) persons for every 10th participant can be 1-2 years older than the category requires.
Time: Each performance length is limited to a maximum of four (4) minutes.
Number of participants: 3-25 dancers
Registration fee: 100 Sek per participant (11 €)
Registration opens: August 2016

ROOKIE BATTLES 1vs1

The Rookie Battles has been a huge succes and inspiration for the young dancers during the past years to improve and challenge themselfs in their freestyle.
The battles will be arranged on the big stage in Dansens Hus at the same day of the Showcase Competition. For more information see schedule below…
Categories:
14-19 years – October 28th
8-13 years – October 29th
20 years and over – October 29th
Concept:
The qualification round is battle form and all the competitors will be paired in twos in their category. Every dancer have ONE SOLO each in the QUALIFICATION ROUND. The winner goes to the next round. When we have the best eight dancers in each categorie, we move on to the quarter finals. Winner goes to semi finals and then final. In the QUARTER, SEMI AND FINALS each dancer have TWO SOLOS each. You choose the style that you feel you master the best. The DJ plays the music to match your style in the first solo. In the second solo the DJ makes his choise of music.
