7 TO SMOKE (Finals in Hip Hop, Popping, House and Breaking)
Main concept for the 1vs1 concepts on the final battles are 7 to Smoke (NOT WAACKING AND DANCEHALL). How does this concept works?
This concept was first presented in public on the dutch event ”The Notorious IBE” in 2002.
Four dancers are invited and four dancers are chosen from the qualifier rounds to be in the 7 to Smoke. They line up in order and the first two dancers in the line battle for one round each. The judges then pick a winner, who gets one point and stays to battle the next person from the line, again in one round battle. The loser has to go to the back of the line and wait their turn to battle again.

There are two ways to win the battle
There’s a 20-minute time limit for the battle. At the end of the 20 minutes, whoever has the most points is declared the winner. If two dancers have the same score they’ll battle for the winning point.
The ultimate way to win a 7 to Smoke is to beat all the other competitors, gaining seven points without losing a battle. If someone does this the battle is over and that person is the winner.

PRE SELECTION – 25th November – Soul Train & Battles
In the pre selection we will have a Soul Train with all dancers line up with the partner and dance in the spirit of Soul Train Party which will be 30 min long.
The judges will pick out the best sixteen (16) Teams that goes to the round of 16. The judges have the right to choose only eight (8) teams that goes directly to the quarterfinals.
The Round of best 16 Teams are two (2) solos (1 min) or combos of each team in the battle 2vs2 .

FINAL DAY BATTLES – 26th November – Battles
The quarterfinal battles are two (2) solos (1 min) or combos of each team.
Semifinals and Finals are three (3) solos or combos ( 1 min) of each team.

Each judge have one vote during the battle rounds. If there is tie, the team have one more round (one solo) to decide the winner. The judges can not abstain themselves from voting – so there can’t be a tie.
Be prepared for the judges may challenge you to a Hustle couple dance!

• If you do not show up after three roll-calls before a battle or competition, you are disqualified.
• Please show respect for your opponent. No physical contact allowed.
• The decisions of the judges are final.
Contestants who do not follow the rules may be disqualified by the judges or the event management.

PRESELECTIONS – 25th November – Cyphers
We have invited 3 judges and 4 battle guests leaving 4 spots open to qualify for!
Qualification consists of 15 minutes cyphers. Judges decides who goes through to a last qualification cypher. Depending on the amount of dancers signing in we adapt how many cyphers we present. The judges pick the best 4 dancers out of the last cypher to qualify to the final day.

FINAL DAY BATTLE – 26th November – 7 to Smoke
On the final day the judges join the 7 to Smoke battle. Time limit of 20 minutes or a total of 7 wins will decide the winner. The runner up that have most amount of winning rounds after the champion gets the second prize.

The judge panel will consist of the other six dancers that are not dancing at the moment and vote after each round.

• The music is chosen by the DJ at the time of competition.
• If you do not show up after three roll-calls before a battle or competition, you are disqualified.
• Please show respect for your opponent. No physical contact allowed.
• The decisions of the judges are final.
Contestants who do not follow the rules may be disqualified by the judges or the event management.

PRESELECTIONS – 25th November – Solos/Combos & Battles

Preselection round is max 1,30 minute per couple in a showcase format.
Each couple gets 1 min 30 sec to dance to their own SONG of choice, NO mix and NO effects, Pitch is ok. You can choose to freestyle or/and routines, as you like. The couple bring their own music only for the preselections to really represent their own style and what they like.
Judges will pick the best sixteen (16) couples to go to the round of 16. The judges have also the right to choose only eight (8) couples to go straight to quarter finals.

FINAL DAY BATTLES – 26th November – Battles

Each battle consists of three (3) solos per couple. One solo (freestyle) per dancer and one combo. This is a criterion in EVERY battle, whether it is a quarter, semi or final. So prepare at least 3-4 combos. Each solo/combo is max 1 minute.
Each judge have one vote during the battle rounds. If there is tie, the couple have one more round (one solo) to decide the winner. The judges can not abstain themselves from voting – so there can’t be a tie.
